2011 StoryTeller Highlight Video
It has to be said… 2011 has been an amazing year! We have had the pleasure of sharing so many of our client’s stories both through video and other avenues. So for our annual holiday video this year, instead of sharing stories of our own, we decided to share with you a taste of what we’ve been so fortunate to work on this past year. Happy Holidays from all of us here at StoryTeller Media & Communications.
Helping Paws 2011 Agency Video
Our partnership with Helping Paws goes back several years. It all began with the original video that we produced for their annual fundraising gala, “The Tail Waggin’ Buffet,” and on through public relations work that we’ve done for the last few years around the “Wag, Walk and Run” - their annual 5K fun run and walk. The organization has grown through the years and we certainly hope that we’ve been a part of their success.
Wag, Walk and Run Hosted by Helping Paws
This past weekend I had the opportunity to attend, and get video of, the annual Wag, Walk & Run Event, hosted by Helping Paws, at Purgatory Creek in Eden Prairie. This was the second year I was able to go, and I am always impressed with the turnout. The rain held off just long enough to keep everyone dry, and everyone seemed to be having a great time. Helping Paws Hosts 13th annual Wag, Walk and Run
Whether you prefer to run on two legs or four, you’re invited to participate in the 13th annual Wag, Walk & Run, hosted by Helping Paws. The event, which is open to all well-mannered dogs, will take place on Saturday, May 21 at Purgatory Creek in Eden Prairie. All donations raised will be put towards the organization’s mission of helping people with physical disabilities live more independent lives through the use of service dogs.
Check out Southwest Metro Magazine’s blog about the event for more information!
Video Blog with Heidi Ruen and Chad Whisnant
Another video blog is up via Chad and Heidi. Lots going on again in the past week. The highlight includes a litter of some seriously adorable golden retriever puppies. Watch our vlog to see just how cute they are and why they made their on camera debut.
Social Media Promotes Good Business Practices
There is an inherit danger with social media.
Platforms and tools like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube all bring with it one thing that PR pros of old didn’t have to leverage; automatic and immediate transparency. Yep, we can officially (and I think quite happily) throw that old phrase “spin doctor” out with yesterday’s trash, because in today’s world, spin often gets unspun pretty quickly in the self-policing world of social media where everybody, everywhere is a journalist.
So what does that mean for us PR pros? It means working with clients who bring integrity to the table on a daily basis. For example, at StoryTeller we have MindWare Toys. MindWare is “the nation’s best resource for toys that engage and entertain.” With a focus on creating and selling children’s toys that don’t just entertain but teach, MindWare’s mission is more than just making money …they’re also focused on making the world a better place.
Another client, Helping Paws, is a non-profit that trains service dogs to help those with physical disabilities. Yet another, the Minnesota Section PGA has a goal of growing the game of golf and will soon be offering tips and tricks to anyone who’s interested via their YouTube channel in the near future (stay tuned).
All are great organizations that simply don’t have a need for old PR tricks of deceit and slight of hand.
So beware all you organizations out there that have a lot to hide, social media is ready to make life very difficult for you. Thankfully, I get to work with a lot of clients who don’t have that concern.
