A little while back someone tweeted, “why do I find myself more interested in Tweets that have a person attached instead of a company logo?” I’m certain this was somewhat of a rhetorical question, because if you’re participating in the Twitter community, you know that it’s much easier to establish a connection with a face than it is with a logo.

Just think of it, if you saw a Twitter page with a respected CEO, would you expect that person to talk about the 15% off sale going on at one of the store chains?  Or would you expect some interesting business insight, observations or best practices?  So, what’s more interesting? With which do you connect more?

Sure, there’s a place for specials and “deals” presented by company logos on Twitter. Some retailers and restaurants have done really well with that, but even so, imagine how powerful that offer would be if it came from the head of the company? Remember, social media is not unlike other interactions - relationships are paramount and typically it’s easier to relate to a person than it is a billboard.
