PGA Tour’s Anthony Kim Hits Spectator in the Rear at AT&T National

Okay, so in my sophomoric sense of humor, I found this video amusing on a few levels.  During the AT&T National over the 4th of July weekend, Anthony Kim’s drive misses the fairway and pegs an unsuspecting spectator in the derriere! Watch this video and notice, first that the fan appears to be unharmed (thankfully), but also notice the way the other patrons run right past him and he, apparently alone, just meanders away. Finally at the end of the clip, Jim Nantz coolly says, “that had to sting.”  How he said that without cracking up, is why he is among the best sports commentators of all time.

After losing the “cell phone battle” to my 12 year old son, my wife and I quickly caved to the “texting battle” as well.  Our argument was about as strong as our son’s, he wanted texting “just because” and we didn’t want him to have texting because “we said so.”  Now that I’m past the fear of raising a son absent of interpersonal skills, I’ve decided that maybe texting isn’t a bad thing.  After all, he’s so jazzed about having this new technological capability he tells me where he is at every given moment.  Once he hits his teen years, that will wane (Disclaimer:  we have an agreement by which he will pay for the cost of the service, I assume through his vast outlets for earning discretionary dollars).
