Saturday, May 30 was Helping Paws‘ annual Wag Walk & Run fundraiser, and last week its volunteers –and dogs — made the media rounds.  Sort of like when Jennifer Aniston hits the talk show circuit to promote her latest movie — except a little furrier.

Izzo — and her foster trainer, Elaine Beckstrom — visited KARE-11 bright and early last Thursday morning to chat with Tim McNiff about the Wag Walk & Run — you can check out her television debut here.  Still a baby at just four months old and in the first stages of her training, Izzo was darling and remarkably well-behaved — although I would expect nothing less from a Helping Paws puppy.

On Friday morning, six-year-old Spira and her trainer, Nancy Shapiro, swung by WCCO-TV to talk about the Wag Walk & Run with Mike Binkley — check out her early morning performance.  A Helping Paws veteran volunteer — she’s been involved with the organization for more than 15 years — Nancy just helped Tyler Olson and his Helping Paws service dog, Charlie, return to school in Iowa a few weeks ago.

The event was also featured on WCCO-TV’s 6 p.m. newscast as well as KSTP-TV’s 5 and 10 p.m. broadcasts on Saturday, May 30.
